My name is Constance, and I was raised on a small dairy farm in Ontario, Canada. I left home at 16 and began a new life, becoming a mother at 17. I’ve been married twice and have a daughter from my first marriage and two sons in my current marriage. My husband started a promotional marketing company in our home in the early 80s. Shortly after, we became business partners and expanded our business over more than 30 years to include marketing support, warehousing, and fulfillment. During that time, we raised our family. Our youngest son was born with severe congenital heart disease and died after a heart transplant at the age of 13. This was a defining moment in my life and sent me on a lifelong path of learning about end-of-life, palliative care, grief, and so much more. After selling the promotional business and closing down my fulfillment warehouse, I spent four years working for a community-based hospice, supporting people at the end of life in their homes and a hospice residence. We live on the shores of Lake Huron in a home I helped design, viewing amazing sunsets that set into the lake. I am enjoying semi-retirement and love supporting friends and family with my extra time. We are known for our dinner parties with great food, wine, and one of my special desserts. I’ve enjoyed travelling over the years, and the most adventurous trip I’ve made was a 3 week trip to India. These days I stay close to home and take pleasure in the changing seasons, my gardens and my family.
